Healthy Choice Meditation Group Now meeting regularly at ASP
The Peer Counseling and THRIVE Weekend! programs of AIDS Survival Project coordinate workshops focusing on self care and offering hands-on experience in managing medical and non-medical aspects of living with HIV.
In these workshops (free and open to the public with pre-registration), representatives of AIDS organizations and other services present information about their programs and how to get the most out of them. Many of the Healthy Choices = Healthy Lives workshops also offer valuable up-to-date information for caregivers and those who work in the HIV/AIDS field.
Among the workshops offered in the past (many to be repeated in the future) are Strength for Caring (caregivers’ needs); Untangling the Mysteries of the Grady Infectious Disease Program; HIV and the Prison System: A Challenge for Health Advocates; Sex, Drugs and HIV; Completed Advanced Directives (living wills and powers of attorney); Making the Mind/Body Connection.
