Treatment Resource Center

Nationally recognized for its scope and currency and serving as a model for similar centers throughout the country, AIDS Survival Project’s Treatment Resource Center maintains extensive reference materials covering the entire scope of HIV disease with the most current information available from medical and AIDS journals and newsletters, abstracts and highlights from recent conferences and updates from the CDC and other research organizations.

Major topics include: medications, opportunistic infections, nutrition, complementary therapies and issues concerning special populations, including a section on Women and HIV and a section of resources in Spanish.

The Center is very user-friendly, with information filed alphabetically by subject matter and a general index of all subjects on which we have information. The index is completely cross-referenced and updated frequently, with old and outdated information removed.

You can also find fact sheets on antiretroviral therapies, opportunistic infections, complementary therapies and other issues related to living with HIV/AIDS are available (in Spanish and English) on our well-known Treatment Tree. These fact sheets are great for those wanting the basics on each subject without going through the extensive binder library. In addition, a wide range of treatment information is available in Survival News, the official publication of AIDS Survival Project.

Internet access for treatment research is available free of charge in the Center through a new program, FOCUS. The goal is to help people who are living with HIV use the Internet to help themselves. If you have never used the Internet, FOCUS will help you get started. We can show you how to do a basic search, and give you tips on how to surf the net without wiping out. If you don’t have a computer, we have Internet access here to find HIV-related information. For those who have used the Internet we can help you learn how to use it more efficiently and how to best meet your individual needs, as well as how to evaluate the information you find.

The Treatment Resource Center also sponsors regular Treatment Forums, free information sessions on the latest therapies, medications and related topics.
